Just weeks before the September 14 groundbreaking for the White Mountains Community College Advanced Technology Building in Littleton, Caterpillar Inc. donated $25,000 to support the project. The donation comes from the college’s decades-long partnership with Milton CAT, a local distributor of heavy-duty machinery and engines that pledged $200,000 in March. Construction is expected to be completed in May 2023.

GZA GeoEnvironment main director Ken Johnson of Salem has been elected to the Council of Members of the Geoprofessional Business Association. Johnston, who is the chief administrative officer of Bedford-based GZA, served on the GBA board from 2015 to 2021 and served as chairman of the organization from 2020 to 2021.

Evelyn Whelton of Madison was named to NH Financial Housing Authorityboard of directors by the governor. She is Senior Vice President, Head of Retail Lending Sales at Bank of New Hampshire. Whelton is a founder and board member of the Mount Washington Valley Housing Coalition and past president of the Mortgage Bankers & Brokers Association.

Rob Werner of Concord has joined the board of directors of the NH Preservation Alliance. Werner is the New Hampshire State Director of the League of Conservation Voters and previously served as the National Field Director of the Americans for Campaign Reform.

Merrimack County Savings Bank help him Boys and Girls Clubs of Central New Hampshire expanding services to youth in the area with the purchase of $50,000 in tax credits by the NH Community Development Funding Authority. The investment will be used to transform the Penacook Community Center into a 10,000 square foot daycare and youth development facility.

Evernord, a nonprofit organization that develops affordable housing in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, named Eric Schmitt, a longtime employee, as the first general manager. In addition, Sherrin Vail was promoted to vice president of asset management and portfolio initiatives, and Josh McIntyre joined the staff as vice president of capital management. He was most recently the chief financial officer of the town of Ellsworth, Maine.
