Moselle, MS (June 19, 2022) – Multiple rescue agencies were dispatched to the scene of a structure fire on Pittman Road in Jones County on Wednesday June 15.
A retired firefighter who was in the area was the first on the scene. When crews arrived at the house fire on the 400th block of Pittman Road, a woman informed them that a male resident was still inside the house and that the firefighter at the retreat was trying to extricate him.
The victim suffered severe and severe burns that were life threatening. He was treated at the scene by EmServ and then airlifted to a burn unit in Jackson.
Multiple units from the Jones County Sheriff’s Department, Southwest Jones Volunteer Fire and Rescue, South Jones Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Boggy Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Moselle Fire and Rescue, and Emserv all responded to the fire.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and his family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
